Carl R. Thien was born in Brooklyn, New York, and once caddied for Babe Ruth. A World War II veteran, Mr. Thien spent many years of his career in the print media, as well as enjoying stints as a photographer, lecturer, consultant, and author. Currently he resides in the state of Florida with his wife of fifty-one years, Virginia Kelly. He is the father of four and the grandfather of four.
